Woo Hoo again!

yes it's Wednesday again, and time to blog about the my week ...

* yeah for the bargain Marty got at the weekend - a big freezer at a local garage sale for only $80! We have been looking on trademe for a few weeks and they were a lot more expensive than that! He arrived home 5 minutes after leaving - I thought he had forgotten his wallet or mobile (as he does regularly) - but no he had found a freezer already!!

* yeah for Uncles who have farms, who can get us a great deal on fresh meat - which has now filled up the above new freezer! Yummy steak and rolled roasts to be had for the next few months! :)

*looking forward to a long weekend, although I don't normally work on Monday it will be nice to have the extra day as a family.

* yeah for sketchbooknz - an awesome site that has got all kiwi scrappers chatting together in one place! Megan you rock! :)

* yeah for a ladies night at Finn's school tomorrow night, I have been asked to get my makeup done by one of the exhibitors!

* changed my scraproom round at the weekend - yeah for it being more functional (and tidy - well almost - LOL!)

later :)

Woo Hoo Wednesday

Yes it has rolled round again very quickly .... so here is what I am Woo Hooing about today ...

* My boys are over their bugs/man flu, and us girls didn't catch it!
* I found a few wee supplies at Spotlight, so my cupcakes will hopefully be coming together soon!
* I can french knit! I sucked at real knitting, and I know french kntiing is easy but I was still expecting to stuff it up.
* Snow is on the way! Probably won't amount to much but good excuse to sit inside with the fire roaring and scrapping/french knitting! LOL!
* Only one more day of work for the week
* A box of goodies arrived yesterday from Miss Meg at Scrapbook Essentials - uuummmm lovely Pink Paislee :)

Some weekend creativity!

With the end of SE Friday night challenges coming up soon, I decided to slap together a layout and card that had - polka dots, ribbon and numbers. Below is the result - A birthday layout for Emma and a birthday card for my niece....

Off for an early night now, had an unexpected wakeup call at 3 this morning - Finn with a tummy bug - eeewwww! But the amazing little man woke feeling sick, went to the kitchen got a container, had a sick then came to wake me up. So no messy carpet to clean up - good on him! Then huuby came home from work late morning sick as well - and of course he was on the verge of death - LOL! Don't you hate the man flu - LOL! So with running round after these two all day, and doing the usual weekly clean, washing etc on not much sleep I am stuffed. But on a good note they are both feeling a lot better but will have another day at home just to make sure.

Sweet dreams :) zzzzzzzzzzzz

Out of the gate and off for a walk ....

... went Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's dairy! This is one very cool series of books, and yesterday Emma and I were lucky enough to go and meet Lynley Dodd (the author) at our local library. She read 3 sotries to the kids, then signed their favourite books that they had all brought from home. Below is Emma getting one signed for her, and another for Finn.

On a sadder note, my fav online hangout Scrapbook Essentials will be no more as of the end of the month. :(
I respect Meg and the decision she has made to spend more time with her family, and know that the friendships I have made through this fantastic forum will continue on.
Thank you Meg for all your hard work behind the scenes, and to you and your design team (past and present) for the amazing inspiration you provide us fellow scrappers with.

Megan, can't wait to hear what you have in the pipeline, am sure it will be great! :)

And here for those I was chatting with last night, my french knitting 'tail' is growing! LOL! Can't wait to see what you have created Beverley.

And to end on a happy note, I have just booked flights to Wellington in October! Yes that's right I'm coming to SENZ! Angelgurl has kindly invited me to stay at her place, so will be some scrapchaos happening that weekend - LOL! Looking forward to meeting more of the SE family up there :)

Another day ... more creating ...

Hope all you Mums out there had a great Mothers Day! I was lucky enough to have a few quiet (ish) hours of creating while DH looked after the kids. Below is the result ....
I took Finn to Auckland just before Christmas last year, and one of our outings was a trip to the zoo. So these are a few pages of a wee book I made for Finn about the day, I wrote a basic story so he can practice reading and learning the words (along the lines of the reading books he is bringing home from school).

I used a picture boardbook from the big red shed (cost $2) and then just covered the pages with pp and inked edges.
And with all the stamping and sewing I have been doing about cupcakes, I decided to actually make some today for the first time - so here goes ...
They turned out very yummy! I made the icing a tad runny though, opps - LOL! I asked Emma what colour for the icing - knew it was either going to be pink or purple, and I was right! :)

Cheeserolls!

Nothing better on a cold winters day than a plate of yummy toasted cheeserolls! I helped for a few hours today making and packing freshly made cheeserolls as a fundraiser for our local Parents Centre - we had orders for over 1000 dozen - you do the maths and that is over 12,000 cheeserolls!!!!!!

Well as predicted am beginning the addiction to Hero Art stamps - didn't realise you could buy smaller 'Sparkle Clear' packs until I read this on Janines blog - so thanks Janine, you are such the enabler! So have 3 new sets on order and should be here next week - will post a pic of these when they arrive! Am so enjoying the stamping, and the Friday night challenge on Scrapbook Essentials involves stamping too - yahoo!

Well must off to do some creating ......

see ya :)

Wooo Hooo Wednesday...

... has rolled around again!

A few things going on in my life at the mo

* loving my new cupcake stamps, and am in love with watercolour pencils!! Made this little tag and had a go playing with the pencils - very pleased with how it turned out. Also found a cool wee trick last night, putting dots of kidy glitz where the 'sprinkles' are on the top of the cupcakes - makes it look very cool! Will post more examples of my play with the stamps soon.
* Loving being able to snuggle up near warm fire at night, only downside is the chilly mornings. Oh well does creat some spectacular scenery found the countryside at the mo!

* Back at work now, just three days a week but am enjoying adult conversations and using my brain again - LOL!

Here are a few pics I took at the weekend in the Te Anau area. Lots of snow on the road on the way in there on Friday, beautiful clear days but very chilly! Wore my thermals all weekend - LOL!!
Beautiful autumn colours amongst the snow.

At Pearl Harbour in Manapouri.
